After a successful 2017 year, the mobile application industry is poised to meet and take up challenges in 2018. The mobile development scenario is about to mature and become more user-friendly. It aims at the integration of business needs and technical problems.

Mobile App Performance Manager

Last year's experience shows that even though the application market performed well, the number of application downloads per user is lower. Developers are now looking for apps that engage and satisfy users, while encouraging them to use them regularly. The goal is to make them technically valuable while increasing the demand for use.

Blockchain Technology

The sudden and dazzling increase in the use of Bitcoins sparked interest in mobile blockchain technology. The developers are ready to seize this interest. Their only concern would be to determine the benefits of using new technology to replace the old SQL database of individual applications.

Machine learning

Apple's Core ML library introduced integrated ML models. This gives developers a convenient way to include ML technology in iOS applications. By 2018, application developers should take advantage of this benefit.

chatbots

The Chatbots were launched in 2016. They created messaging platforms using the bot for use on websites. This year, these robots will extend their domain to mobiles. Developers find that it is easy to use chatbots. They do not need to learn a new interface nor develop native applications that require regular updates.

Android Instant App

This new entrant is likely to become a favorite this year. It requires no installation and is compatible with all operating systems. The ability to integrate it into Google search engines is an added benefit.

Optimized mobile page

Google AMP accelerates mobile web browsing. The domains use AMP to reach and involve more users. More and more applications should convert to AMP format to take advantage of the benefits.

5G is on its way

The 5G is ready to deliver speed. It will run up to sixty times faster than current 4G technology. This new network must be deployed slowly, driven by US-based service providers.

Back of the cloud

In 2018, cloud applications will reach 89%. Cloud storage is secure. It frees space on devices and does not enter the memory of it, making it a preferred storage for private and commercial use. Mobile Backend as a Service allows data to flow easily in the clouds, from one device to the other, easily and quickly.

Portable devices will continue to grow this year. Security issues will be part of application development as more and more transactions are made using mobile phones. Developers will commit to developing more and more on-demand applications as they are used, and startups will begin to see them as a way to reach their customers. Virtual reality and augmented reality applications will see an increase in demand and will drive the development of mobile applications.
