Who Stole The American Dream? – A Book Review

When Burke Hedges wrote the book "Who Stole The American Dream", there was no way at that point of knowing what was going to happen in the economy and the labor market in America today. 39; hui. How does what he said in the early 90's help us almost 20 years later. Unemployment is high, higher than it has been in years, there really doesn't seem to be any job security maybe even less than there is. it stated in the book at time of printing. What role should network marketing play in today's world and how can you get involved?

What is the American Dream? Is one of the first questions asked in the book. Maybe it's a little different for everyone, but a common thread seems to be financial freedom, being able to do what you want when you want. The sad truth is that by the age of 65, almost 95% of all people are dead, completely broke, still working, or dependent on family, church or condition. This means that only 5% are financially independent in retirement. What happened to the American dream?

Network Marketing is a term almost everyone has heard but it may have been linked to other terms like pyramid scheme, Ponzi scheme, tiered pyramid could be things stated on network marketing industry. Did you know that the tiered pyramid is a natural structure and that every organization that distributes goods and services is a form of tiered pyramid? According to the book, American business, government, education, and even churches are pyramids. Pyramids like anything can be good or bad. There are both legal and illegal pyramids and what makes it a ploy is when the value stops dropping. Carlo "Charles" Ponzi created the world's largest money-making scheme by making a name for himself every time a bi scam takes place, it is now called a Ponzi Scheme. The book goes on to state that the largest pyramid scheme in the world is legal and that it was created by the US government and is called Social Security.

Burke goes on to explain how charities and education are helping steal the American Dream. Big charities are nonprofits for you and me, but huge profits for the hypocrites who run them. Just when you thought you were helping kids or cancer research, you have now found that the administrators have taken hundreds of thousands of them for themselves and added perks like luxury vacations with your donations. Not just a pyramid scheme but illegal, unethical and immoral.

Then he goes into education. Colleges and universities are big businesses and should be judged on their output. About 90% of all graduates do not work in the field they initially attended school. Without endowments, these institutions would not survive. If they were forced to operate like a real business, they would go bankrupt in a year. What other options are there?

Many people choose to open their own small businesses to try and achieve the American Dream. The point is that 90% of all conventional small businesses fail within the first 5 years and of the 10% that fail, only a few make it past ten. It is increasingly difficult for small businesses to be successful in the market today. Franchising is another option, but you need to have such a large amount of cash to buy one and then add the real estate and equipment. The profit in this type of business isn't that great considering the risk and headaches involved. Most franchise owners ultimately like to have more to make a decent profit. These options don't look like the American Dream picture, either. There has to be a choice left for the average American to make his dream come true. There is and that's what we're going to talk about next.

Network Marketing is what the author believes to be the best option for anyone to build their American Dream. As the world has changed, our buying habits and options have changed. From the first general store, to department stores 5 and 10, to shopping malls and malls, to franchises, to network marketing. It all depends on the distribution and how the network marketing model saves businesses money. The networking model saves the business by eliminating in-house sales force and huge amounts of money spent on advertising. One of the best things is that it is a cash business that they only pay to the distributor after the sale, which is so important and that is why the company mother can pay the successful home business owner such high commissions.

There are people from all walks of life in the network marketing arena and companies sell almost anything you can get in a store. Anyone who is ready to start a business and wants to get paid for what they do should get involved in Network Marketing. The 80-20 rule happens in just about everything, which means 20% of people do 80% of the work. Are you ready to be part of the 20%? Burke goes on to explain exactly how networking is structured and how our government is trying to stop anyone from finding out what people really earn as networkers. Is it to keep us from achieving the American dream? The book goes on to talk about building a multi-level business.
